2024 Macquarie Sports Scholarships

Primary office location
Macquarie Sports Scholarships enables the transition from the sporting arena to the workplace for elite athletes with an interest in finance and banking. This is an opportunity for athletes to develop their skills and build a professional network with a 10-week paid summer internship, while giving back through Macquarie's’ community sports programs.

At Macquarie, it’s all about doing work that creates value for our communities, our clients and our people. You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone, no matter what role, contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

As an Intern you’ll get to work on real projects from your first day, develop and utilise new skills, explore interesting fields and do challenging work. As part of the Macquarie Sports Scholarship, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in a 10-week paid summer internship in one of Macquarie’s business groups
  • Take part in volunteering opportunities with Macquarie ports' projects/programs as they arise, such as sports clinics and functions.
  • Network with the Macquarie Sports Scholarship alumni, Macquarie Group summer interns as well as sporting and not-for-profit organisations.

What you offer

  • You are an ambitious, focused and well organised elite athlete who is committed to pursuing a corporate career.
  • You have represented at national and/or state levels in sport within the past three years.
  • You have a career interest in the banking and finance sector. You are available to complete your placement during the nominated period.
