The purpose of our Risk Management Group is clear - creating a better future by managing the risks of today and anticipating the risks of tomorrow. As an intern, you’ll join an independent central function responsible for objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.

What role will you play?   

As an intern in the Risk Management Group, you’ll discover how a sound risk culture has been integral to Macquarie’s risk management framework since inception 

We have opportunities in the following areas: 

Credit (London or Dublin) manages and oversees the counterparty credit, equity and asset risks taken by Macquarie. This is delivered through the credit risk management framework that articulates the approach to assessment, approval, monitoring and reporting of these risks.  

Market Risk assesses, monitors and reports on the risk of change in the value of Macquarie’s positions as a result of changes in market conditions. This encompasses both traded and non-traded market risk. Market Risk also oversees Macquarie’s implementation of the liquidity risk framework. 

Aggregate and Prudential Risk develops and maintains the prudential risk framework to support compliance with prudential obligations globally and monitors aggregate risk across all risk types relative to Macquarie’s economic capacity to bear risk. The following teams(s) in our Aggregate and Prudential Risk division are currently offering Graduate opportunities: 

  • Model Risk have global responsibility for ensuring the integrity of key financial models used by Macquarie.

Your nine-week programme will start with a tailored induction week providing you with the skills and knowledge we think you need to be successful.     

As part of this programme, you’ll:   

  • Have the opportunity to gain insight into the financial services industry and build the technical skills and knowledge that will help you discover more for your career   
  • Gain valuable experience and insight into your chosen business area, working closely with your team   
  • Work side-by-side with business leaders and have the chance to collaborate on live projects and transactions from day one   
  • Get on-the-job experience and hands-on training to help set you up for a successful career once you complete your studies   

 

What you offer   

  • You have a unique perspective. We want to hear it. This internship is for students in their penultimate year of study of an undergraduate or master’s degree at the time of application, or undertaking a final year undergraduate and planning to undertake a Masters; and graduating in 2027
  • We welcome applications from students with all degree backgrounds in their penultimate year of study
  • No prior financial experience is required, just an innate curiosity and eagerness to learn
