Our Macquarie Capital team provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity fund raising and corporate restructuring. It also undertakes in principal investing activities globally to support its client activities.

What role will you play?

As an intern with Macquarie Capital, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients and partners make opportunity reality through the innovative advice and flexible capital solutions we provide. 

You’ll learn from industry experts as you are placed in one of our Macquarie Capital teams based on your skills, experience and interests matched with our business needs.  

These teams include industry coverage groups advising clients across a variety of sectors, including: aerospace, defense & government services, consumer gaming & leisure, financial institutions, industrials, infrastructure, and software & services. Teams can also include principal investing in energy and infrastructure.

Typical tasks include building and running financial models, drafting pitch presentations for clients, helping to run key transaction work streams on live deals and actively tracking share price movements, while monitoring industry news, trends and transaction updates.

Estimated salary amount is the equivalent of $90,000 - $110,000 annually, prorated for the length of time of the internship. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

  • Complete meaningful and challenging work allowing you to gain practical experience to tie into your theoretical knowledge from school.
  • Take part in an orientation where you’ll learn about Macquarie’s business groups with your fellow Macquarie interns and receive technical training.
  • Receive support and guidance from your manager and aligned mentor.
  • Participate in philanthropic and social events to connect you to our inclusive culture.
  • Present a project you worked on during the program to senior management.

  • You have a unique perspective. We want to hear it. This internship is for students expecting to graduate between December 2027 – June 2028.
  • You are a critical thinker with strong numerical skills and can articulate your thoughts and ideas clearly.
  • You like to collaborate with others and are comfortable building strong working relationships.
  • You have an interest in financial services and bring a proactive, resourceful, and positive attitude as well as a strong work ethic.
  • You have a strong attention to detail with experience and comfort in Excel.
