The Operations Division of Macquarie Bank is looking to appoint an Associate to join the Margining & Futures team. The team is responsible for all aspects of client margining, risk mitigation, time-critical exchange margin settlements and reconciliations for Macquarie Commodities and Global Markets businesses globally.

This is a 12-month Max Term Contract.

What role will you play?

As an Associate, you will gain exposure to a wide range of complex products within the Commodities and Global Markets division while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will manage daily margining of client exposures and collateral settlements, deliver accurate Credit/Risk reporting, and support group reporting across multiple products. The role involves overseeing reconciliations, resolving breaks, and escalating and managing disputed margin calls.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and senior managers to support both business-as-usual activities and strategic initiatives, including system implementations. Key responsibilities include monitoring transactions, booking margin payments and receipts, maintaining strong risk controls, and contributing to operational excellence and transformation initiatives.

  • Proven experience in Banking or Financial Services Operations with strong technical problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and change-driven environment
  • Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative team approach
  • Desirable: Exposure to OTC/Futures, collateral management, client servicing, and risk/operations systems
