Join our global 1st line Non-Financial Risk Team and play a key role in ensuring our surveillance capabilities implemented across both the first and second lines of defence for Trade, Ecomms and Voice are appropriate and proportionate for managing Commodities and Global Markets’ market conduct risk.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will monitor Commodities and Global Markets’ surveillance capabilities across the firm’s global trading and lending activity to identify gaps and contribute to the design, development and implementation of surveillance solutions.

As an Associate Director, you will be required to build and maintain a strong working relationship with key stakeholders, including, Senior Trading, Desk Heads, Line 2 Surveillance, Business Aligned Compliance and Technology colleagues.

What you offer

  • Prior experience in a Markets trading role, with an in-depth understanding of global FICC, Futures, Equities and Commodities markets
  • Sound understanding of trading systems, market structures, client interactions.
  • Familiarity with Surveillance applications such as, SMARTS, Actimize, Scila, KX, Trading Hub, would be highly advantageous.
  • High level of proficiency in data manipulation and analysis
  • Strong communication skills, in particular, the ability to distil complex information into a succinct and digestible format.
  • The gravitas to challenge the status quo to drive solutions that help to manage market conduct risk on a proportionate basis.
  • Direct or indirect experience in a surveillance team. A particular focus on trade surveillance would be preferable.
  • Involvement in remediation projects in the market’s surveillance space would be beneficial
