Our Equity Derivatives and Trading team provides synthetic prime brokerage, securities financing, derivative products and services to meet the needs of a wide range of clients. We offer bespoke derivatives tailored to customer needs and customise hedging solutions, along with providing liquidity via market making and trading. Our division consists of approximately 120 front office staff globally, with major footprints in Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and Gurugram with the Chief Operating Officer function sitting at the centre of business strategy, technology, and operational delivery, driving platform scalability, digital processing, and front-to-back integration across Prime, Trading, and Execution.

We are seeking a senior Chief Operating Officer to partner with the head of Equity Derivatives & Trading and lead a technology-enabled business with a strong emphasis on Prime services, digital platform build-out and workflow automation.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of front office strategy, platform engineering, data and risk & control frameworks, with responsibility for shaping the future state digital & AI operation model for the business.

You will:
  • Act as the strategic business partner to the business head, translating growth strategy into scalable, technology enabled operating models
  • Drive end-to-end digitisation of trade lifecycle processes 
  • Embed digital client workflows 
  • Own business performance across revenue, cost base, capital usage, and returns
  • Identify and proactively manage operational, regulatory, and client risks 
  • Drive a high-performance culture and operating rhythm across a global organisation

What you offer

  • Experience in Equities/Synthetic Prime Brokerage businesses within investment banking or a trading firm
  • Domain expertise in Equity Finance/Prime Brokerage (synthetic, securities lending, financing) or Equities Execution/Cash & Derivatives Trading or Delta One/Structured Equity products
  • Proven track record as a Chief Operating Officer/Business Manager/Business Execution or similar senior leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large scale technology and operating model transformation and lead platform build outs and digital modernisation programs
  • Experience driving automation and efficiency at scale in high volume businesses
  • Experience embedding robust risk and control frameworks in front-office environments
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including technology investment prioritisation
  • Stakeholder management experience across front office and engineering teams.
