What role will you play?

Your role is to manage a national team dedicated to achieving market share goals in commercial broker. This involves leading, coaching, and developing a group of dedicated commercial broker Relationship Managers, fostering a high-performance culture that not only celebrates success but also supports learning, personal development, and growth. Working closely with the Commercial Broker Business Development Managers, you are accountable for sales and quality outcomes which can be achieved through diligent portfolio and pipeline management. You will play an important role in supporting Relationship Managers to build and nurture relationships with existing and new brokers, ensuring that the loan quality and risk management of each relationship aligns with Macquarie's expectations, policies, and procedures. You will also be expected to stay informed about competitor product offerings, and pricing information to gauge Macquarie’s competitiveness.

Active participation in strategic projects, stakeholder engagement, and focusing on key priorities within the business are also critical components of this role. Collaboration with the Personal Banking broker team is essential to cultivate an inclusive and psychologically safe working environment. This comprehensive approach ensures not only the achievement of business objectives but also promotes a culture of growth, learning, and inclusivity within the team.

  • Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to lead and motivate a team, communicate expectations, and develop the team’s capability
  • Excellent industry knowledge of Australia’s broker market, business banking products and credit policies and processes
  • Ability to monitor, manage, and measure workflow while simultaneously supporting and coaching team members to handle broker or client initiated requests across loans, deposits, and payment products
  • Ability to support and embed business transformation, drive the adoption of change, as well as identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives and opportunities
  • Prudential management of associated client risks, supporting the team in completing compliance activities, including but not limited to: Annual Reviews, Risk Monitoring Framework, Expiring Facilities, Excesses and Arrears, and AML/CTF
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities that allow you to build long standing relationships, negotiate outcomes, and leverage your network to solve business and client problems.
