Our Detection Engineering team, in the Vulnerability Management service within our Cybersecurity division, is responsible for surfacing the most critical vulnerabilities across Macquarie's IT ecosystem and providing a prioritised and contextualised view that enables teams to focus remediation efforts where needed.

What role will you play?

In your role as Senior Data Engineer, you will help us design, develop and maintain a greenfield data pipeline using a modern techstack. You will drive the future of our vulnerability management platform and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable data solutions. You will help build a collaborative environment to enhance our capabilities in identifying, analysing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across our multi-cloud environment.

What you offer

  • 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering or Python backend development, or strong interest in transitioning into Data Engineering
  • Strong Python expertise, with hands-on experience across backend and data engineering
  • Proven experience working with modern data platforms, including cloud data lakes, Apache Iceberg, Airflow and dbt
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
  • Experience developing robust data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data
  • Solid background in microservices architecture, with a focus on Kubernetes and CI/CD best practices
  • Good understanding of cloud-native environments and integrating data and security tooling
  • Commitment to high-quality, reliable code through testing, automation and engineering best practices.
