Our Banking and Financial Services Data Governance team is dedicated to refining and delivering data management frameworks and standards that meet regulatory obligations and drive business value through fit-for-purpose data. By collaborating across business and technical teams, we ensure data is managed effectively and responsibly throughout Macquarie.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for applying data governance and management capabilities within Banking and Financial Services, supporting key programmes of work. In this role, you will develop and maintain strong partnerships with a broad range of business and technical stakeholders to implement governance, risk, and control frameworks. You will work as part of a high-performing and collaborative team, gaining exposure to the implementation of enterprise-wide data management frameworks. You will understand the significance of data management tools and their role in supporting governance practices, and collaborate with teams within Banking and Financial Services and across Macquarie in implementing data governance, risk, and control frameworks. Additionally, you will develop, implement, and monitor reporting mechanisms for data governance and related frameworks, and provide advice on data governance to various stakeholders, including implementation teams.

What you offer

  • 4 + years in data risk/controls/governance experience in an enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices and tools
  • Exposure to data management tools, such as Collibra, including fundamental knowledge of the environment and its application for risk and control assessment
  • Exposure to AI-based tools in the data management world and an understanding of how they can increase productivity
  • Agile mindset and ability to work in a structured and unstructured environment and strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate data risk and controls
  • Experience supporting the uplift of governance and controls capability
  • Understanding of AI governance and its relation to data governance is valuable.
