Join Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets group as a Lawyer primarily supporting our Equity Derivatives and Trading business in Asia. Our team provides product solutions to producers, consumers, private equity, financial institutions and investors with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract with the potential for renewal subject to business needs.

What role will you play?

You’ll be responsible for providing legal support to the Equity Derivatives and Trading business in Asia, with a particular focus on driving project development and implementation. In this unique role, your primary focus will include reviewing and negotiating agreements with service providers including brokers and custodians, establishing and updating retail warrants programs across various Asia markets, verifying listing documentation with internal stakeholders, instructing external counsel and managing external and internal approvals.

In addition, working closely with the front office project team, you will also advise on any OTC derivatives regulatory issues and implement documentation for OTC regulatory compliance, as well as provide general and other ad hoc legal and regulatory support to the business.

What you offer

  • 5+ years' post-qualified experience in equity derivatives and/or master documentation, gained from banking/financial institutions and/or law firms
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating ISDA Master Agreement, Credit Support Annex, Global Master Securities Lending Agreement and agreements supplemental thereof
  • Knowledge of equity derivatives, structured notes and warrants would be highly desirable
  • Analytical mind with a keen eye for detail, experience working under a fast-paced environment dealing with tight deadlines and a track record of working flexibly and proactively to make quick and sound judgment calls across a range of complex matters
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and build strong working partnerships with stakeholders and counterparties with an excellent command of verbal and written English. Chinese language capability will be advantageous.
