Join our Financial Risk technology team in building Credit Risk systems that support all businesses across Macquarie Group. This is an exciting time for us as we embark on a Credit Risk Transformation program that aims to build a new system to support all core Credit Risk activities, such as rating and reviewing our counterparties, managing limits, position monitoring, and portfolio monitoring at various levels.

What role will you play?

As an Engineering Manager on either a permanent or contracting basis, you will own the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the team owned product and platforms. As well as technology ownership, you will own the hiring, retention, and growth and development of an engineering team that meets the needs of the business and works well within the overall system architecture. You will mentor engineers, deep dive into technical problems, and provide leadership on complex technology issues, leading teams of Software Engineers.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing multiple software engineering teams
  • Strong technical background (across the full stack - front end and back end)
    • Relational Databases (Microsoft SQL Server preferred, Postgres, Sybase)
    • Back-end: Java
    • Front-end: Angular, React
    • Unix batch scripting
    • Containerisation: Docker
    • AWS Cloud experience
    • Data distribution: Kafka
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with proven success at delivering complex engineering initiatives
  • Product company experience with an understanding of how to build and maintain great products in an Agile environment
  • Solid understanding of how to build scalable, maintainable, and performant applications
  • Computer science education or equivalent experience.
