Our Financial Crime Risk Team is responsible for managing and overseeing financial crime risk. The team provides expert guidance and support on matters relating to Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, ensuring our business practices align with both regulatory requirements and internal policies. By collaborating closely with our business units, the team helps to identify and mitigate financial crime risks while supporting sustainable growth.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

What role will you play?

You will act as the first point of contact for all financial crime risk advisory matters, including Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. By partnering with our EMEA Business and Desk Heads, you will provide day-to-day advice on client and transaction risk assessments, due diligence, and Know Your Customer / Customer Identification Procedure requirements, with a particular focus on higher-risk client engagements. You will also deliver comprehensive and risk-focused Enhanced Due Diligence reports, including assessments and recommendations on relationships with Politically Exposed Persons. Additionally, you will make recommendations to senior management regarding the approval or rejection of higher-risk clients and transactions.

What you offer

  • Strong foundational knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing, with experience in Anti-Bribery and Corruption and/or sanctions control within a large banking organisation, consulting, risk management, or mergers and acquisitions
  • Deep knowledge of local EMEA regulations, legislation, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of investment banking products and services, particularly across corporate advisory, debt, equity and private capital markets, principal investing and financing, and equity brokerage
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders through effective communication and persuasive presentations
  • Specialist financial crime risk knowledge and experience conducting pre-transactional due diligence
  • Experience delivering Enhanced Due Diligence reports with a focus on higher-risk client engagements
  • Proven ability to assess and make recommendations on relationships with Politically Exposed Persons
