Join our supportive and high performing Real Assets team as Business Analyst /Executive. Our Macquarie Asset Management Real Assets team based in Beijing and Hong Kong is a part of the Asia Pacific regional real assets platform and primarily focuses on investments in the Greater China markets in the space of infrastructure and green energy.

This role can be based out of either Beijing or Hong Kong.

What role will you play?

You will be an integral member of the team with exposure across the full life cycle of investments covering the Greater China market, primarily working on asset management of portfolio businesses, refinancings, exits and sourcing new investment opportunities. You will support the management of the existing portfolio assets by performing asset valuation and performance analysis, utilising financial modelling and scenario analysis as key tools, in addition to liaising with the management of the portfolio companies and external advisors in developing, driving and delivering the asset strategic priorities.

You will work closely with colleagues and external advisors to manage key asset management matters such as follow-on investments, refinancings and divestments, and prepare investment papers for approval by the investment committee to support investment and asset management decisions in line with the investment strategy of our managed funds. You will also screen, assess and negotiating transactions, conduct market analysis and develop and manage financial models for new investment opportunities.

What you offer

  • 2+ years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investment management or advisory division within a major accounting firm;
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Economics or Finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin due to the business coverage of the role
  • Strong technical and numerical skills, particularly in financial modelling
  • Ability to work as a team player. The role may require the candidate to work on opportunities outside of the Greater China market.
