As a Division Director, you will provide leadership for Macquarie Asset Management in the Americas and provide advice and guidance to the investment teams on Workplace Health and Safety due diligence and drive the related aspects of the transition plan for new Portfolio Companies. During the investment period, you will actively engage asset management teams and executives to support the companies’ Workplace Health and Safety journeys and operational activities, focusing on those companies undertaking significant change and/or posing the greatest risk to the portfolio.

You will lead the Americas team and coordinate activities / initiatives with the wider Portfolio Performance Group team and other central teams (e.g. risk, sustainability, etc). From an investing standpoint, you will scope and oversee pre- and post-acquisition due diligence for all transactions including the appointment and management of relevant advisors, present key Workplace Health and Safety issues to Macquarie Asset Management investment committees, with remedial actions arising clearly specified. You will also develop and lead the implementation of relevant strategic initiatives for the Americas region.

Salary range for the role: $325,000 - $350,000 per year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. What you offer

  • 15+ years hands-on operational experience leading safety in an industrial enterprise paired with a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as engineering
  • Relevant experience in construction industry (for a contractor or as a client)
  • Direct leadership responsibility for Workplace Health and Safety function in a high-risk environment
  • Proven experience succeeding in a complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to drive change.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices including Workplace Health and Safety governance, leadership, performance metrics, systems and culture
  • Expertise across a variety of safety categories including safety frameworks/mitigation strategies, operational improvements, metrics/reporting
  • Exceptional strategic planning, influencing, and communication skills (written and oral) and ability to develop influential relationships at multiple levels within an organization
  • Ability to interpret, summarize and communicate key statistical information and data (including trends, etc) to key stakeholders
