Our Operational Risk team is responsible for embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework into the Legal and Governance Central’s Corporate, Reputation and Governance streams, including managing the operational risks inherent within them.  

This role is a 12 month Parental Leave Contract.

What role will you play?

This role will see you advising on and monitoring the effectiveness of mitigating controls, delivering against and refining the control assurance programme as well as providing advice, education and feedback to the Legal and Governance Division. You will also partner with teams to ensure they clearly understand their role in relation to effective operational risk management.


What you offer

  • Experience in operational risk management or audit preferably gained within a financial services environment
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, and the ability to exercise exceptional judgement to effectively manage risk.
  • Ability to lead discussions with operational staff at all levels
  • Genuine skill in building and nurturing meaningful relationships
  • Strong problem solver with the ability to think creatively
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, internal audit, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
