Join our Credit Risk division, which is responsible for analysing and assessing all credit and equity exposures taken by Macquarie to minimise the risk of loss arising from failure of counterparties to repay loans or honour contracts. Our team is also responsible for undertaking reviews of counterparties and transactions and establishing appropriate limit frameworks, working with the deal team on principal transactions to understand risk versus reward profiles and develop risk mitigation strategies.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for the credit review and analysis of Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets counterparties in the Asia region, working closely with global credit offices to provide credit limit recommendations supported by thorough analysis. Additionally, you will monitor the credit quality and global exposure of the portfolio, staying current with industry and economic trends to address credit concerns.

In collaboration with business units, including senior management in the Risk Management Group, you will conduct counterparty reviews and ensure proper guidelines and approvals are in place. Building and maintaining relationships with our Business Functions, Risk Management, Legal and Operations teams will be essential, as well as staying informed about geopolitical developments in the Asia region.

What you offer

  • Experience within Credit risk, equity/credit research or other relevant positions from a large financial institution
  • Experience in transactional analysis and product knowledge, e.g. Equity derivatives, FX and commodity derivatives
  • Experience with legal documentation derivatives such as ISDA and CSA
  • Strong commercial orientation and understanding of business and risk-related issues
  • Collegial team member who builds open dialogue-based relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with proficiency in an Asian language an advantage (i.e. Chinese/Korean).
