What role will you play?

You will handle accounting, finance and tax operations for our Japanese entities, which includes analysing financial statements, regulatory reporting and tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Liaising with our Australian headquarters for monthly and group reporting, you will also provide support on closings, manage intercompany balances, maintain the fixed asset ledger and process journal entries.

In addition, you will prepare regulatory returns and statutory reports, ensuring compliance with Macquarie Group standards. You will also support on projects related to regulatory change, business initiatives and process improvements.

What you offer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualifications an advantage
  • 5+ years accounting experience, ideally from a financial institution or accounting/tax firm
  • Strong business-level English with native Japanese language skills
  • ERP system experience and intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Japanese tax regulations and IFRS is an advantage
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
