Join Macquarie’s Cyber Threat Incident Response team based in our Sydney office as a Senior Cyber Threat Defense Analyst. Our team is responsible for detecting, identifying, triaging, and mitigating threats and risks in our global cyber environment.

What role will you play?

In this role you will be responsible for actively triaging and responding to advanced cyber threats targeting Macquarie’s global infrastructure and businesses. You will also be responsible for analysing attack trends facing the organization and industry to better define proactive defensive measures. You will also be supporting other in-region analysts that work weekends via a rotational on-call schedule.

What you offer

  • 5 - 8 years of security or technology experience in large enterprise environments, including leading and developing teams
  • Strong skills in aggregate log analysis using Splunk or other SIEM platforms
  • Lead and coordinate security incident response with cross‑team collaboration for effective remediation
  • Mentor and guide SOC analysts, promoting a collaborative and growth‑focused team culture
  • Communicate security findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Apply an offensive security mindset with solid understanding of threat actor TTPs
  • Interest in emerging, forward‑looking technologies, including AI‑enabled SOC capabilities
  • Lead business engagement with a digital native banking organisation
  • Participate and represent SOC function in Crisis management simulation activities and tabletop exercises.
