Join Macquarie’s Risk Management Group Non-Financial Risk team where we focus on forming an independent view of Macquarie’s Operational Risk profile. Our team is able to effect change in operational risk management and culture through the continual refinement and implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework. As the Senior Manager, you will report to the Global Risk Lead for Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk aligned to support the Commodities and Global Markets Group, and lead engagement with the Americas first line of defense teams across these specialized risks.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will serve as the primary second line of defence point of contact on Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk matters for our Commodities and Global Markets Group, and its Tech and Market Services stakeholders across the Americas. You will represent the Non-Financial Risk team in relevant Americas management forums and committees, providing independent challenge and oversight on risk matters across the region. While acting as a catalyst for change and improvement, you will offer insight and advice on best practice approaches to the design, measurement, analysis, evaluation, and reporting of Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk.

While in this role, you will also review and challenge reporting, risk assessments, significant incidents, key risk indicators, and assurance activities to help ensure key risks are effectively identified and managed. You will oversee the analysis of non-financial risk data to identify risk themes, strengthen risk management outcomes, and build awareness of key risk management policies through training and stakeholder engagement.

Additionally, you will oversee key projects supporting Macquarie’s Operational Risk Framework strategy, establish and maintain a formal engagement model with internal stakeholders and service providers, review new business initiatives and support responses to requests from regulators, auditors and senior management.

  • 10+ years’ experience in non-financial risk within dynamic, regulated financial institutions or financial services firms, including exposure to technology, cybersecurity, and risk management in commodities trading, financing, and financial markets. 
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of technology risk frameworks, industry practices, and the regulatory environment in which Macquarie operates. 
  • Analytical and commercially minded risk professional with the ability to make sound recommendations on operational risk issues and form an independent view of the organization’s risk profile. 
  • Inquisitive problem solver and lateral thinker, skilled at uncovering hidden insights, grasping abstract concepts, and navigating complex situations. 
  • Ability to review and challenge technical detail while maintaining a broader perspective to identify and mitigate material risks. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to lead and challenge risk management discussions with senior stakeholders in a global matrixed organization. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, with certifications such as CRISC, CISA, or CCSP desirable, combined with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while sustaining high performance in fast paced, output focused environments.
