Our Technology Business Operational Risk team supports the effective management of data and technology risks across Macquarie. Working closely with teams across our global footprint, we help strengthen operational risk practices by guiding stakeholders through frameworks, policies and proactive risk management approaches.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will partner with Technology, Operating and Support teams to oversee the management of data and technology risks in line with Macquarie’s operational risk frameworks and policies. You will help build and maintain a strong, proactive risk culture by offering clear guidance on risk requirements and working with stakeholders to strengthen their understanding of controls.
You will work collaboratively to identify operational issues, assess control breakdowns and provide practical recommendations. Your work will span risk and control uplift initiatives, remediation programmes, change‑related risk assessments, issues and incident reviews, deep‑dive assurance activities and risk workshops. You will also contribute to continuous improvement and support strategic initiatives that respond to evolving business needs.

  • Experience delivering operational risk activities with a focus on identifying root causes, analysing control breakdowns and supporting strong risk management practices
  • Experience in technology or data risk management, assurance or audit, ideally gained in financial services or professional services, including exposure to cloud, data or AI capabilities
  • The ability to navigate complexity, apply lateral thinking and interpret abstract concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders on emerging risks and issues
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups across regions, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
