What role will you play?

In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across Macquarie’s Corporate Operations Group, specifically within the Core and Personal Technology team to ensure that operational technology risk is effectively managed. As a Technology Risk Manager, you will specialise in technology infrastructure, cloud hosting technology, and personal technology. You will ensure that appropriate controls and frameworks are in place to manage relevant risks in line with Macquarie’s Operational Risk Management Frameworks, associated policies, and the overall risk appetite.

You will collaborate with technology teams and senior business stakeholders to identify and understand operational issues and control breakdowns, provide advice on proposed responses, and support operational risk incident investigations to identify root causes, breakdowns in controls, and assess strategic solutions to prevent re-occurrence. In addition, you will conduct risk workshops and technology risk-related training, participate in ad hoc tactical and strategic risk initiatives, and drive a strong risk culture in the teams you support. Your proactive approach will help to drive a strong risk culture in the teams that you support along with a clear understanding of the risk management framework.

What you offer

  • 6+ years’ experience in Technology Risk Management, Technology Audit and Assurance, or Technology Operations
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Sciences and relevant certifications in Information Security, IT Auditing, IT Governance, and Enterprise Risk Management such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge the status quo
  • Ability to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders relating to anticipated or emerging risks and issues
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage deadlines, work with agility, and to understand new ideas and concepts
  • Experience with personal technology and infrastructure, particularly cloud technologies, and their associated risks and regulatory requirements within the financial services industry is highly advantageous.
