Join our Client Solutions Group to drive the continued growth of our Real Estate platform in Japan and our flagship real estate fund series, Macquarie Real Estate Partners (“MREP”). Macquarie Asset Management's Real Estate division is a leader in platform investing, having invested in and scaled well known specialist operators including Goodman, Charter Hall, Investa, LOGOS, Iglu and Greystar Asia (amongst others) for approximately 18 years. You will be in a high-impact, market-facing role focusing on capital raising for Macquarie Asset Management managed products such as MREP and also current MREP series specialist operator ventures, investor engagement, and shaping our presence with institutional clients across one of Asia’s most sophisticated markets.

What role will you play?

In close collaboration with the broader cross-divisional team, you will act as the primary relationship owner for a defined portfolio of Japanese real estate institutional investors. You will build and deepen relationships across multiple levels within client organisations, strengthening engagement and expanding coverage across both existing and prospective investors.
 
Partnering with the Head of Real Estate Client Solutions APAC and regional stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the Japan distribution strategy by identifying priority investors, maintaining a disciplined pipeline, and driving a structured and effective approach to client engagement. You will lead and contribute to end-to-end capital raising efforts across pension funds, life insurers, trust banks, regional banks and government-affiliated institutions, while working closely with global teams to ensure investment strategies are clearly positioned and aligned with local investor expectations. In addition, you will support investor discussions and the preparation of client materials, bringing relevant market insights and client feedback back to the team to help refine strategy and enhance outcomes.

What you offer

  • 8+ years of experience in institutional capital raising, investor relations or investment product distribution, with a focus on the Japanese market, ideally within real estate or real assets
  • Established relationships and a strong ability to originate and grow connections with Japanese institutional investors
  • Strong relationship management and client engagement capabilities, with experience interacting across multiple seniority levels within investor organisations
  • Native or business-level Japanese language proficiency, with strong English communication skills to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders
  • A commercially driven and proactive approach, with the ability to manage capital raising activities, prioritise opportunities, and operate within a structured distribution framework.
