What role will you play?

You will be an integral member of the team with exposure across the full life cycle of investments covering the Japan market with a focus on Private Equity and Adjacencies. Operating as a key part of the investment and asset management team, you will work closely with senior originators on deal sourcing, partnering with colleagues and external advisors in screening, assessing and negotiating transactions, developing and managing financial models, performing valuations and due diligence, and also liaising with the management of the portfolio companies and third-party advisors. 

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide oversight of junior members, prepare investment papers for approval by the investment committee to ensure they make successful investment and asset management decisions in line with the investment strategy of our managed funds, and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including consultants, internal stakeholders, and senior level employees of investee companies.

What you offer

  • 8+ years’ experience in investment management gained from asset management, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, investment banking, management consulting or advisory division within a major accounting firm
  • High numeracy skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as well as Japanese due to the business coverage of the role
  • Highly motivated, proactive and resilient with sound business judgement and strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, entrepreneurial and innovative with the credibility and professional polish to represent the investment business of Macquarie both internally and externally
  • Existing transaction experience in relevant sectors, such as infrastructure, energy, industrial, TMT, will be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
