Permanent - Full time,
We're the team that application owners across Macquarie depend on for cryptographic services - certificate issuance, key management, encryption standards, and PKI. We have deep technical expertise and strong security Subject Matter Experts. What we need now is the discipline to match: a Product Owner who can bring structure to high-volume, multi-stakeholder demand, and ensure application teams get clear, consistent, and timely outcomes from us.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

You'll bring order to complexity. Application owners across the firm have cryptographic needs - certificate requests, encryption integrations, key management queries, compliance obligations and they land with us from every direction, with no consistent intake, no shared prioritisation, and no clear line of sight on when things will be delivered. Your job is to fix that. You'll own the demand pipeline from first contact to delivery: structured intake, transparent prioritisation, stakeholder communication, and a backlog that engineering can execute with confidence. You'll work closely with our Security and Technical Subject Matter Experts, they own the cryptographic depth; you own the process discipline that turns their expertise into reliable, measurable delivery for the application teams who depend on us.

  • Experienced Product Owner with a proven track record of managing high-volume, multi-stakeholder demand within platform or shared-services environments. Demonstrated ability to run effective intake processes, triage competing requests, and make prioritisation decisions with clarity and credibility
  • Customer-focused approach that places application owners at the centre of decision-making. Strong understanding of delivery pressures, with the ability to advocate for customer needs in prioritisation discussions and drive predictable, frictionless outcomes from the cryptographic platform
  • Proven capability to build and maintain a structured, actionable backlog for engineering teams, including well-defined user stories, clear acceptance criteria, early identification of dependencies, and prioritisation aligned to business value and risk considerations
  • Experience facilitating key Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stakeholder reviews, dependency management across adjacent teams (such as Machine Identity and Secrets Management), and retrospectives focused on continuous improvement
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organisational levels. Capable of providing clear delivery commitments to application owners, explaining prioritisation decisions to stakeholders, and presenting concise delivery updates to senior leaders, including the CISO
  • Comfortable operating in technically complex domains. Able to ask insightful questions, recognise when to engage subject matter experts, and translate technical constraints and considerations into clear, understandable business language
  • Highly desirable experience within regulated financial services, security, or infrastructure platform teams, particularly in environments where demand significantly exceeds capacity and strong intake governance is critical to successful delivery.
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
