What role will you play?

As the Regional Director of Engineering, your role encompasses a blend of technical, managerial, and strategic responsibilities. You will lead a centre of practice for engineering, ensuring the quality of engineering work, adherence to standards, and successful delivery of technology solutions across the region. You will also directly lead a team of engineers in developing technology platforms and solutions.

Additionally, you will adopt a Platform Engineering approach to create paved-path solutions, promote templating, and enable developers, making technologies more accessible to the engineering community. You will develop APIs, create documentation, provide support, and collaborate with other Divisional and Global Engineering teams to evolve the platforms to meet the engineering community's needs. Furthermore, you will serve as a technical and product owner for a subset of platforms unique to the division, guiding the product's direction, managing its development, and ensuring its quality.

Furthermore, you will lead the team as local experts and champions for various platforms, including a homegrown internal portal, Unqork, Kubernetes (EKS), Airflow, the DevOps Toolchain, Cloud services (AWS/GCP), Power Automate, Pega Workflow, Dataiku, and various databases.

  • Experience in full-stack application development, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies and architectures.
  • Experience with Unqork, Airflow, containers/Kubernetes, GitOps/ArgoCD, and Vault.
  • Proven engineering skills with modern programming languages, and a working knowledge of databases, APIs, authentication/authorisation, as well as an understanding of Design Patterns, Testing methodologies, and the overall SDLC.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Shell Scripting, load balancing, and basic networking, and the ability to design solutions considering user experience, automation, security, performance, resilience, cost, scale, and reusability.
  • Proficiency in functioning within a tightly controlled enterprise environment, with robust skills in change management.
