Our first line of defence Business Operational Risk Management team is aligned to the Commodities and Global Markets Central Division., This division includes a small number of trading businesses and a diverse set of functions that support our Trading Businesses globally, covering rates valuations, project delivery, major system changes, unauthorised trading controls, quantitative modelling, capital and liquidity, legal and regulatory obligations.

What role will you play?

You will support our Commodities and Global Markets Central Division and the broader division on risks. You will work on the delivery of the Operational Risk Management framework, in partnership with business stakeholders by understanding products across end-to-end product value chains and evaluating risks, control environment effectiveness and performing Operational Risk Self Assessments.

In addition, you will assist in diagnosing the suitability of our control environment and identify weaknesses or potential uplifts. You will also be required to work on the development of a risk-based approach to resolving identified opportunities, investigate and report on operational incidents which may include issue identification, and following through to issue closure and conduct control assurance.

What you offer

  • 2-3 years’ of experience in a risk related role
  • Experience within trading houses, financial services or consulting firms
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience in sales or trading, looking to transition into an operational risk role would be advantageous though not essential.
  • Understanding of the implementation of risk and control frameworks to manage non-financial risks in highly regulated contexts would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge or prior experience in Australian banking will be advantageous
