Join our Global Credit Risk Team in Sydney and play a key role in managing our Financial Institution clients such as banks, non-bank financial institutions and funds, while supporting our financial markets and asset management businesses.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for managing risk to banks, other financial institutions and fund clients in various Macquarie businesses, including trading product groups from securities trading to derivatives and liquidity management. You will take ownership of a global portfolio of counterparties, measure and manage counterparty risk, and evaluate market trends and news events which may impact the credit quality of counterparties.

You will analyse and determine credit risk for the purpose of assigning credit limits and ratings, review and analyse trading counterparties and transactions to ensure it meets appropriate return hurdles and determine risk appetite.

What you offer

  • Experience in a comparable role within banking and financial services or professional services, ideally in financial markets.
  • Ability to understand risk and interpret financial statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of trading documentation, derivative products and capital markets is highly regarded
  • Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.

About the Risk Management Group

In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Prudential Risk, and Risk Management Group Central.
