Join our diverse and global Cyber Threat and Incident Response team as a Senior Security Automation Engineer. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our team’s capabilities to detect, investigate and contain cyber threats.

What role will you play?

Our mission is to enable Macquarie to operate safely within a challenging digital environment by detecting, investigating and responding to advanced cyber threats. We manage various platforms used by Cyber Threat Defence Analysts, Cyber Threat Intelligence Analysts, Detection Engineers and incident responders, among others. The platforms are Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), User Entity and Behaviour Analytics (UEBA), Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) and a proprietary centralised blocking system.

As a Senior Cyber Engineering Manager, you will lead a global team of platform and application Engineers who are responsible for half of these platforms. You will take on the responsibilities to shape our strategy, integrate systems and cross platform scripting for automation and orchestration, drive roadmap and delivery, manage vendors and key stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to be hands on in designing, developing, integrating and deploying front end applications.

What you offer

  • 5-10 years’ experience leading and developing engineering teams
  • Engineering delivery leadership skill, cyber security experience is highly regarded
  • Experience with systems integration and/or python, preferably supporting cyber security or security adjacent teams. SaaS integration experience is a plus.
  • Experience with fully automated build processes and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience in agile product development and strong delivery experience.
  • Passionate about solving cyber security challenges through automation.
  • Experience working directly with customers to understand how they operate, and translate manual work processes into automated workflows.
  • Excellent listening and influencing skills, and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships between a complex set of global stakeholders and vendors.
  • Exposure to Amazon AWS and Kubernetes desirable.
  • Security platform experience desirable.
