As a Climate Intelligence Unit Jr. Analyst, you will leverage your expertise in energy, infrastructure, technology, and commodities to support the global transition to a low-carbon economy by delivering practical climate solutions and collaborating on decarbonisation goals. You will work within a small, international, and multi-disciplinary team to support cross-group initiatives, keep up to date with key trends, and produce compelling thought leadership for clients and stakeholders.

What role will you play?

In this role you will conduct research on the energy transition, including sector and geographic trends, and produce high-quality content combining qualitative and quantitative analysis for various audiences. You will support colleagues across Macquarie to enhance coordination, collaboration, and informed action on market developments, commercial opportunities, and thought leadership. Additionally, you will engage with external stakeholders to gather information and build knowledge and expertise on the latest trends.

Salary range for this position: $67,000-75,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. What you offer

  • An undergraduate degree and 1-3 years of experience in energy transition, sustainable finance, policy, or economics, or a graduate degree in these areas
  • Strong interest in the energy transition, excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, summarizing, and quantitative reasoning skills, and an analytical mindset with strong communication abilities
  • Experience in producing research and high-quality content, including writing research memos or reports and data visualization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse, global teams, and as a resourceful self-starter, comfortable working independently or on a small team
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (preferably using ThinkCell), keen attention to detail, proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus, and experience with journalism, blogging, or a newsletter.
