Our Banking and Financial Services Media team as part of the broader Marketing eco-system develops leading media strategies that create exceptional experiences across every touchpoint, through the design and execution of a media strategy that contributes to Macquarie’s brand vision and delivers on our key result areas such as to increase brand awareness, consideration, and favourability. 

This role will be offered on a 12-month contract basis

This pivotal role reports into the Head of Brand and Consumer Marketing, championing and ensuring all planning, buying and implementation is aligned with the media strategy and ensuring all campaign plans ladder up to the strategic goals of the Banking and Financial Services division. You will have the ability to create an integrated media strategy that positions multiple products and multiple divisions in a clear, cohesive, and considered approach.

This position will drive the budget tracking and reconciliation process, competitor research/tracking and own reporting and analysis of media channels connecting above the line with through the line to drive sustainable growth. You will have the ability to combine the art and science of media, marketing, and analytics to help deliver on complex challenges of marketing effectiveness, ROI and channel effectiveness across all channels both traditional and digital.

You will have experience working with and leveraging Marketing Mix Modelling on how best to optimise and implement our media mix. Plus, a strong and supported expert opinion of how brands successfully grow and how to measure solutions to achieve and drive that growth. You will become the key relationship holder for our media agency partner, managing media operations, fostering and improving processes and ways of working across all relevant teams.
You will build upon the partnership with our media agency and our broader agency mix, to plan, execute and report on all media activities.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to own and lead key strategic priorities across this group and develop your skills in creating best-in-class integrated media strategies that drive growth.

What you offer

  • 8-10 years’ media experience on agency and/or client side, in addition to a university level qualification in media, marketing, advertising, or another relevant degree
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape within Australia and can identify relevant opportunities for innovation and testing in media
  • Thrive being part of an agile, fast paced environment and pride yourself on being able to build strong relationships across teams
  • Knowledge and experience with offline / ATL channels (planning and buying experience is key), along with advanced knowledge of digital channels from planning/format/capability perspective (paid, social, digital display, paid and organic search)
  • Possess an analytical mindset, you know how to overcome challenges using data to find solutions
  • Can intelligently interpret market conditions and apply data insights into recommendations / next steps
