We have an excellent opportunity to join our Banking and Financial Services Privacy Office as a Privacy Manager. Our team sits within the Line 1 Risk Management function which has oversight of the Banking and Financial Services compliance with the Macquarie Group Privacy Policy and related regulatory obligations. You will have the opportunity to be responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of the privacy risk governance framework across the Banking and Financial Services group at Macquarie.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will work with stakeholders across Macquarie to analyse risk scenarios and provide advice on privacy-related issues. You will support project stakeholders in their completion of Privacy Impact Assessments and act as an escalation point to assess privacy incidents, manage and support incident management processes. You will assist with the oversight and management of upcoming regulatory changes impacting privacy, including the preparation and presentation of governance meeting packs and associated reporting functions.

In addition, you will support the implementation of the Privacy framework and ensure ongoing compliance through governance, policies, training, reporting, and assurance. You will also provide review and guidance on privacy-related risks and controls across all retail banking and wealth products, work with stakeholders across various disciplines, including Line 1 and Line 2 Risk, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Operations to ensure privacy risks are managed effectively.

What you offer

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline
  • Background in Risk, Compliance and/or previous Regulatory experience, along with a solid understanding of Australian privacy regulation, the regulatory frameworks and principles applicable to retail financial services
  • Strong relationship management skills and an ability to engage with a broad cross-section of stakeholders, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem solver with an ability to understand a given problem and identify the key drivers and potential solutions
  • An intellectually curious mind and be a critical and independent thinker who enjoys taking responsibility for complex and challenging tasks
  • Possess the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, output focused environment.
