Join our global Aggregate Risk and Prudential Team based in Sydney and play a key role in assessing, understanding and managing Capital and Credit Risk prudential regulation to support compliance with APRA prudential requirements.

What role will you play?

As a Director in Aggregate Risk and Prudential, you will lead the team responsible for engagement with Macquarie’s Businesses, Group Treasury and other Support Groups to provide prudential advice and line 2 oversight in relation to them meeting their capital and credit risk prudential requirements. You will have an excellent opportunity to apply your risk skills, build deep expertise in prudential regulation and establish relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation and externally.

Working closely with senior business and risk management leaders across the group, you will provide timely and accurate advice on APRA requirements and expectations and review and evaluate transactions, ensuring that key prudential risks are identified and managed. You will provide valuable prudential risk insights to the organisation and advice in relation to regulatory change and its impact on Macquarie’s businesses. You will also have a key role in our ongoing engagement with APRA.

What you offer

  • Extensive financial services risk management experience across a broad suite of financial products, with strong knowledge across capital and/or credit risk.
  • An understanding of the prudential regulations and frameworks applicable to banks and experience leading high-profile projects and teams.
  • Intellectually curious mind and be a critical and independent thinker who enjoys taking responsibility for complex and challenging tasks.
  • Ability and desire to solve bespoke problems whilst demonstrating an excellent eye for detail and curiosity to investigate deeper when required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build longstanding and positive working relationships with a broad cross-section of individuals.
