What role will you play?

As the Fraud Detection and Analytics Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of fraud detection strategies for Macquarie Bank's Credit and Debit Card portfolio. Your role will be critical in mitigating financial crime risks by leveraging data analytics, machine learning, and advanced fraud detection technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and prevent fraudulent activities, ensuring Macquarie Bank maintains a secure and trusted financial environment.

Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining fraud detection frameworks and analytical tools, utilising advanced data techniques to improve fraud detection efficiency and reduce false positives, and collaborating with Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Operations teams to strengthen fraud prevention strategies. Additionally, you will monitor emerging fraud trends and implement proactive measures to mitigate evolving risks, develop and continuously monitor fraud-related dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track performance and mitigation effectiveness, enhance and optimize fraud detection systems through continuous testing, tuning, and improvement, and provide leadership in incident response, fraud investigations, and root cause analysis.

What you offer

  • 4+ years of expertise in fraud detection, risk analytics, or financial crime management in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with fraud detection tools, transaction monitoring systems, and coding languages such as Python, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • An understanding of fraud typologies, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to mentor and support a high-performing team.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is desirable
