Our Corporate Operations Group (COG) Tech Infrastructure Team is at the forefront of transforming the way applications and infrastructure are deployed and managed. Working within our dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with various technology teams to adopt and optimise cloud solutions, leveraging your expertise in AWS and/or GCP. We focus on integrating new systems into the Macquarie Group technology environment, ensuring connectivity and seamless operations between the Macquarie network and counterpart networks.

What role will you play?

As a Cloud Consulting Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing expert guidance and technical consulting services on public cloud infrastructure. You will work with clients to design, implement, and optimise their cloud environments, ensuring they achieve their business objectives and maximise the value of their cloud investments. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting infrastructure-related problems, and supporting technology teams during incidents and outages. Additionally, you will assist teams with new cloud service discovery, integrate new systems, provide consultancy on application and infrastructure design, and drive continual improvement within the infrastructure environment.

What you offer

  • Proven technical experience in public and/or private clouds, with strong project execution skills.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in migrating workloads within a multi-cloud environment is advantageous.
  • Broad technical understanding that enables integration of new systems into existing environments, considering architectural standards, security requirements, and resilience patterns.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Self-motivated to achieve business outcomes through collaboration and the ability to work within a dynamic, agile environment.
