Join our Equity Finance business as a Synthetic Equity Trader. As part of a successful and highly supportive team, you’ll help drive sustained business growth and increased profitability for Macquarie in Asia.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 5 days a week in our office location. #LI-Onsite

What role will you play?

You will trade various products, including equity swaps, p-notes, equities, futures and FX (spot and forward), across 11 regional markets. You will have ownership for the full trade lifecycle from pricing through to execution, post-trade management and P&L attribution.

You will be responsible for external relationships, including sell-side banks, brokers, intermediaries and asset owners, and drive positive commercial outcomes through originating, structuring and executing on trade ideas. Effective risk and control management is crucial in this role so you will work to ensure trading risks are foreseen, managed and escalated within the group framework.

What you offer

  • 7+ years of experience, including time in an equities trading role
  • Detailed understanding of Asian equity markets including exchange rules, securities lending and short-sell regulations
  • Strong swaps knowledge of product structure, lifecycle events, margining, funding and capital requirements
  • Coding and Asian language capabilities would be an advantage.
