As a Business Analyst within the Data Analytics team, you will be driving the development, adoption, and support of data analytics capabilities for the Commodities and Global Markets division. The team works closely with traders, desk analysts, and central data teams to understand their data and analytics requirements, forming these into epics and stories and managing prioritisation and delivery. The team collaborates with product management, data engineers, business analytics, data governance teams, and external clients and suppliers to deliver impactful solutions.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in the advertised location.

What role will you play?

You will translate data and analytics requirements into epics and stories, managing their prioritisation and delivery. Your responsibilities will include delivering data analytic solutions, automating analytics processes, and managing data ingestion from various providers. You will also play a key role in fostering collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment with agile development practices, and contributing to a fast-moving front office environment.

What you offer

  • Familiarity with AWS services, SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with tools such as Alation, PowerBI, Spotfire, Dataiku, and Alteryx
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge or interest in climate, energy market, and natural resource data and analytics
  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn and develop
