You will partner with stakeholders to identify and document critical data elements, including business definitions, ownership, and quality expectations. You will map end-to-end data flows and lineage across systems to understand how data moves and transforms throughout the enterprise. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining data management documentation, such as metadata records, lineage diagrams, and control inventories. You will support data risk and control assessments, identify data issues and controls, and recommend remediation strategies. Additionally, the role also involves supporting the implementation and adoption of Enterprise Data Management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica IDQ) and frameworks. You will work closely with business units to promote awareness and adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices, as well as facilitate workshops to define business metadata and ensure alignment with governance principles. Additionally, you will perform data profiling and quality assessments to improve confidence in data accuracy, provide advisory support on data governance policies, standards, and best practices, and contribute to process design and continuous improvement initiatives for data governance.

The RMG Change and Data team is focused on serving divisions across Risk Management Group to work with other various groups in bringing data under governance, deliver data priorities, build new data products and manage overall data quality. Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. 

What you offer

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data governance, data management, or business analysis.
  •  Foundational understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, lineage, and metadata management.
  •  Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language and produce effective documentation.
  •  Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capacity to explain data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  •  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
