Join the Transaction Management and Accounting Advisory team who are responsible for supporting new transactions throughout Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets businesses, providing technical advice and guidance on the relevant treatments of transactions.

What role will you play?

You will utilise your strong technical accounting expertise and advise on the appropriate accounting treatment for new products, restructures, and complex transactions. You will be responsible for understanding and communicating key areas of accounting judgement, challenging existing accounting treatments where necessary, and providing informed recommendations in response to evolving accounting standards and developments.

You will partner with a diverse range of stakeholders, including front office teams and senior management, to identify, communicate, and manage opportunities that drive more efficient outcomes across the organisation. Working closely with the broader Finance group, you will help assess and manage risks associated with new proposals, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organisation’s strategic objectives and risk appetite.

What you offer

  • CA qualified or equivalent
  • Experience within an accounting advisory or transaction advisory role, with a focus on banking and financial services and ideally with commodities experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS 9, Financial Instruments
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to convey complex accounting issues to varying types of stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset, translating accounting theory into commercially viable answers
  • Experience in training stakeholders on accounting updates
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, prioritising and managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
