The Macquarie Asset Management Technology team partners with the Macquarie Asset Management business to deliver end-to-end technology solutions. We work across the full spectrum of the software development life cycle and engage in mission-critical initiatives with our Real Assets engineering team. Our collaborative approach brings together diverse people, empowering them to shape possibilities and drive outcomes within a global financial services group. We work closely with digital and front office business teams, as well as technology solution design and architecture teams, to gather requirements and implement solutions that leverage a range of systems and technologies. We also liaise with the wider Macquarie Technology group to maintain infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other core systems, building and supporting applications while maturing our DevOps capability.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in the advertised location.

What role will you play?

As a Software Engineer, you will work on several transformational initiatives with our Real Assets engineering team. You will collaborate closely with digital and front office business teams, as well as technology solution design and architecture teams, to gather requirements, develop, test, and implement solutions using a variety of technologies and frameworks. You will also liaise regularly with other teams in the wider Macquarie Technology group to maintain infrastructure, cybersecurity, and core systems. Your role will involve building and supporting applications, enhancing DevOps capability, and contributing to one of the largest Infrastructure Asset Managers in the world.

What you offer

  • Proficiency in frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Angular, or similar
  • Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python or NodeJS
  • Experience in designing and implementing RESTful and FAST API services
  • Strong understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure
  • Experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL database systems, with experience in cloud-based databases
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
