Our Central Corporate legal team, within Macquarie’s Legal and Governance Group, provides legal advice and services to the whole of Macquarie, with a significant focus on supporting Macquarie’s Group Treasury function. This includes supporting Group Treasury’s funding, capital, group structure and transactions activities. The team also advises on a range of other corporate, banking, prudential and regulatory matters.

What role will you play?

You will work closely with a high performing team of senior legal counsel in a strategic role on transactional, advisory and project work reflecting Macquarie’s global footprint and organisation.

You will play a lead role in supporting the Group Treasury relationship, and work within a collaborative team to deliver on Group Treasury’s pipeline of work, including funding transactions (private placements, bond issuances; syndicated and corporate facilities) and broader Group Treasury initiatives.

This role provides an opportunity to explore a diverse career path and grants access to the senior executive team, as well as leading internal and external experts.

What you offer

  • Minimum 5 years’ PQE gained within a transactional banking and finance team – general corporate finance or other relevant experience (e.g. DCM or acquisition/asset finance) will be considered – the role will offer you the opportunity to apply your existing technical skills while developing new expertise
  • Demonstrable legal technical skills, for example, advising on banking law or financial services regulation
  • A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment whilst proactively taking ownership for projects and meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, capable of quickly understanding and conveying complex legal and regulatory issues, including ability to effectively influence senior management and stakeholders.
