This is an exciting opportunity within Macquarie's Commodities & Global Markets Regulatory Interpretations team in Sydney, supporting our focus on accuracy and completeness of various regulatory reporting obligations globally (e.g. derivatives transaction reporting). You will work as part of a small cohesive global team that develops expertise (of both individuals and the team as a collective). Our team works directly with business and operations functions to provide advice to support the continued improvement in processes, controls and regulatory risk awareness and culture across our businesses.

What role will you play?

As a subject matter expert, you will apply and develop your knowledge of various regulatory reporting rules and the different types of reportable transactions carried out by our businesses. You will consider different products and work with various stakeholders to assess the application of specific reporting regulations to specific products. You will be continually learning about new business activities and advising on elements of global reporting rulesets applicable to them. 

What you offer

  • 5+ years of experience interpreting and applying regulatory reporting rules in a relevant capacity (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting) within the banking or financial services sector
  • Proven ability to assess reporting requirements across a wide range of products and asset classes, with experience in commodities and/or exchange traded derivatives (e.g., futures) considered beneficial
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capability to work closely with global teams to evaluate how specific regulations apply to new or existing business activities
  • Demonstrated track record of driving consistent regulatory related change across global businesses, with high achievement drive, resilience, and tenacity
  • Innovative and collaborative mindset, with strong relationship building skills, a commitment to integrity, and a focus on maintaining productive connections across teams, business partners, operations, and industry networks
  • Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn, including building knowledge of diverse global reporting rulesets and evolving reportable activities.
