What role will you play?

You will help build the next generation of cloud platforms by applying your engineering skills to solve complex challenges in scalability, security, and performance. As a Junior Platform Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, deployment, and optimisation of our cloud platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver a robust platform that empowers developers across Macquarie.  You will up to date with current and emerging Kubernetes and cloud computing technologies to evaluate their applicability to our platform while ensuring the platform adheres to best practices in security, scalability, and maintainability.

What you offer

  • Experience building and maintaining production backend services or APIs using Python and/or Golang
  • Hands-on experience with AWS-hosted applications, including containerised services on Kubernetes (EKS), plus working knowledge of IAM, secrets management, and basic cloud security
  • Practical use of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows to support reliable builds, testing, and deployments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation, with guidance from senior engineers
  • Familiarity with TDD or automated testing, with a focus on improving code quality, security, and reliability
