Join a team of experienced risk professionals and partner with our Equities business to drive a strong risk culture. You will work in the first line of defence team to ensure Operational Risk is managed effectively in line with our Risk Management Frameworks and associated policies.

This is an 8-month fixed-term contract role to provide parental leave support.

What role will you play?

You will be leading deep dive reviews and directing control assurance activities across Asia, including process mapping and identifying process improvements, and investigating and managing incidents and issues, including surveillance escalations. You will be driving the risk assessment of new or amended activities and businesses, including managing approvals and implementation. You will review and improve governance structures, facilitate regular risk and control self-assessments, and develop our reporting capabilities.  You will also help develop our key risk indicators and represent BORM at governance and business meetings.

In addition, you will help drive increased operational risk awareness across the Business and any subsequent improvements where required, including working on ad hoc projects.  As such, you’ll work closely with all Front-to-Back support areas (including Compliance, Finance, Operations and Settlements, Second-line Risk, Information Technology and Internal Audit etc.).

What you offer

  • 7+ years’ experience in internal audit, controls based external audit, operational risk or similar assurance roles in the financial services sector, in-house or working with clients in a professional services environment
  • Existing exposure to a trading environment with knowledge of Global Markets, preferably in Equities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders and risk management colleagues regarding issues and assurance findings
  • Commercially minded, problem-solving lateral thinker with the ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex situations
  • Comfortable working within a dynamic, fast paced and enterprise agile environment.
