Join our Macquarie Systematic Investment team as an Equity Trader, where you will execute across systematic, programmatic, and high touch workflows with a focus on liquidity management and execution efficiency.

The Macquarie Systematic Investment team is a global equity manager, delivering innovative quantitative investment solutions for institutional and retail clients for over 20 years. What role will you play?

You will be responsible for executing equity trades across global markets, with a primary focus on Australia, while actively monitoring market conditions and news flows to assess their impact on execution quality and portfolio risk.

A core component of this role involves evaluating execution outcomes and broker performance through robust pre‑ and post‑trade analysis, including Transaction Cost Analysis. You will apply a systematic, data‑driven mindset to drive continuous improvement in the execution process, contributing to the evolution of execution frameworks, the enhancement of automation and monitoring tools, and the refinement of workflows as strategies, market structures, and technology continue to evolve.

What you offer

  • 2–5 years’ experience in equity trading, ideally across systematic and high touch environments
  • Strong understanding of equity market microstructure, liquidity, and execution methods
  • Experience with EMS/OMS platforms and capability in Python, SQL, or similar tools.
  • Analytical, disciplined, and able to perform effectively under pressure.
