We are seeking a Manager to join our Operational Risk team in Sydney, partnering closely with business and support divisions across Macquarie. This role will play an important part in supporting the ongoing evolution and enhancement of Macquarie’s operational risk management frameworks and practices, helping to ensure risks are identified, assessed, managed, and reported effectively across a broad range of business activities. 

This is a 12-month Max-Term Contract

What role will you play?

As a Manager in our Operational Risk team, you will play a key role in partnering with stakeholders across business and support groups to strengthen risk management practices. You will be responsible for evaluating improvement opportunities for the design and effectiveness of Macquarie’s risk management frameworks and supporting proactive management of emerging risks. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement sills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and lead conversations with senior stakeholders across Macquarie. You will also contribute to driving a strong risk culture by providing practical, commercial and forward-looking risk advice that supports business growth and resilience.

You will develop subject matter expertise across risk assessments, control management, issues and incident management to provide effective oversight over our frameworks and practices. You will be joining a dedicated team who work closely with business leaders and their teams to provide support to uplift risk management practices across the organisation.

  • Previous experience within risk management gained within a financial institution and/or professional services firm.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management frameworks, governance and controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality outcomes.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative, positive and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a high-performing team environment.
