Are you an investment analyst passionate about financial markets, portfolio construction, and asset allocation? Join the Office of the CIO and help shape the investment strategy for Macquarie’s Private Bank portfolios, which have $60bn under management. Working within the Investment Strategy team, you will support research, portfolio analysis, and investment insights across multi-asset portfolios, helping deliver strong outcomes for clients.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will drive the development of the Private Bank’s strategic and tactical asset allocation views across equities, fixed income, alternatives, currencies, and emerging asset classes.
By conducting deep-dive investment research into macroeconomic themes, market developments, valuations, and portfolio risks, your analysis will directly shape our core portfolio construction, investment strategies, and client-facing market insights. You will collaborate closely on market research and portfolio recommendations, you will play a key role in translating complex financial data into clear, actionable intelligence for our clients. 

What you offer

  • 2–4 years of prior experience in investment analysis, portfolio analytics, market research, or a related investment role.
  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in investment markets, asset allocation and client outcomes.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret market data and communicate investment implications clearly.
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce well-structured written material.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Python or portfolio analytics tools would be highly regarded.
  • Progression toward or completion of postgraduate investment qualifications, such as a CFA, is highly regarded.
