The Trading team for our European entity (Macquarie Bank Europe) based in Paris provides pricing and risk management of client hedging solutions, working in close partnership with the client coverage team. You will be part of our European Gas, Power and Emissions business with a primary focus on gas trading.

What role will you play?

In this role you will manage pricing requests from the client coverage team in Macquarie’s market-leading commodities business and execute the initial hedging of client transactions on a principal basis. You will also closely monitor the market risk and P&L of the trading books and carry out ongoing risk management of positions. You will strive to develop strong market knowledge to profitably manage the trading books and support the client business. You will also interact with internal colleagues including tech, quants, market risk, finance and operations to ensure our business is managed efficiently.

What you offer

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in financial markets. Knowledge of Gas, Power and Emissions markets is highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Economics, or related quantitative discipline
  • An analytical and curious mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Resilience, persistence and being able to “think on your feet”.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, further language skills and coding skills are desired but not essential.
