Join Macquarie’s Cyber Threat Incident Response team based in our Sydney office as a Cyber Incident Responder. In this role, you will act as the central coordination point for cyber incidents, ensuring aligned execution, clear communication, and consistent delivery of investigative outcomes across teams.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will enable effective cyber incident response through coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring defensive actions are executed efficiently and collaboratively. You will serve as the Incident Response Lead, driving the identification, prioritization, and delegation of investigative and remediation tasks using experience and evolving findings to guide decision-making. As the central point of coordination, you will ensure alignment across Cyber Threat Incident Response and partner teams, facilitate communication and handovers, maintain accurate case tracking, and deliver timely status updates and executive-level summaries as required.

  • Proven ability to lead cybersecurity incident response activities, including generating, prioritizing, and delegating investigative actions, and managing technical handovers across global teams 
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders and effectively managing relationships during high-pressure incident scenarios
  • Ability to manage incidents across the full lifecycle, including driving post-incident remediation and follow-up activities through to completion
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise updates to both technical teams and executive leadership
  • Solid understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures, with the ability to apply an adversarial mindset during investigations
  • Experience with enterprise-scale security environments, including large-scale log analysis platforms (e.g., Splunk), and a minimum of 5 years in security or technology roles within large organizations
