Our Project Assurance team plays a critical role in supporting successful change delivery by providing independent assurance across the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams, business leaders and stakeholders, the team helps identify and manage delivery risks, strengthen control environments and ensure change outcomes are implemented safely and effectively.

What role will you play?

As a Project Assurance Manager, you will lead assurance activities across a portfolio of change initiatives, helping to identify risks early and support effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. You will conduct project reviews, assess governance and risk management practices, and provide constructive challenge and guidance to project teams and stakeholders. A key focus of the role will be evaluating delivered risks, validating control changes and assessing the effectiveness of controls to ensure they are embedded into business-as-usual operations. Through your insights and recommendations, you will help strengthen delivery outcomes, enhance risk management practices and support the successful implementation of change across the organisation.

  • Demonstrated experience in operational risk, compliance, controls assurance, project management or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, governance practices and change delivery methodologies
  • The ability to assess complex initiatives across people, processes, technology and data, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive challenge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience reviewing control design, assessing effectiveness and developing practical recommendations to support successful outcomes.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
