The purpose of our Risk Management Group is clear - creating a better future by managing the risks of today and anticipating the risks of tomorrow. As a grad, you’ll join an independent central function responsible for objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.
What role will you play?

As an intern in the Risk Management Group, you’ll discover how a sound risk culture has been integral to Macquarie’s risk management framework since inception. This is a direct placement opportunity with our Credit team in Houston.
As an intern with the Credit team in Houston, you will cover a portfolio of North American trading counterparties and actively learn from the Credit Team and discuss with various trading desks to fully understand the risk nature of the trading relationships between Macquarie and the clients. You will research, gather information and prepare credit review memos that are commensurate to the potential trade exposure and the credit quality of Macquarie’s counterparties. You will also be involved in trading requests and attaining credit limit approvals.

- Complete meaningful and challenging work allowing you to gain practical experience to tie into your theoretical knowledge from school.
- Take part in an orientation where you’ll learn about Macquarie’s business groups with your fellow Macquarie interns and receive technical training.
- Receive support and guidance from your manager and aligned mentor.
- Participate in philanthropic and social events to connect you to our inclusive culture.
- Present a project you worked on during the program to senior management.

- You have a unique perspective. We want to hear it. This internship is for undergraduate students expecting to graduate between December 2027 – June 2028.
- You are a critical thinker with strong numerical skills and can articulate your thoughts and ideas clearly.
- You like to collaborate with others and are comfortable building strong working relationships.
- You have an interest in financial services and bring a proactive, resourceful, and positive attitude as well as a strong work ethic.
- You have a strong attention to detail with experience and comfort in Excel.
